As we traveled from the Basque region, through Zaragoza and towards Barcelona, the green landscape turned the desolate reds, browns and yellows of Spain. Personally I love the landscape since it is so alien to anywhere else, but I can see how others find it drab and depressing.
This is the second time we have been to Barcelona and the wealth divide to Zaragoza is noticeable. The streets look cleaner, the cars fancier, there is more greenery, and even the ethnic divide is more different; Zaragoza looks like it has got a lot more African immigrant labour than Barcelona.
I have never been to hollywood but I imagine Barcelona as it’s European cousin. You’ll find entertainers in the parks, streets, and even on the trains. You’ll find this in lots on major cities but Barcelona stuck out for me since there were a few shiters.
At one point there was a young boy popping and locking to a rather unamused train passengers.
I couldn’t quite understand why people had such little sense of humour until I realised that this might be funny once, but if you lived here and were coming back from a shift at work it would start to get on your tits. The same with wannabe singers who could barely sing going from carriage to carriage. The more I thought about it the more obnoxious I found it; forcing people to listen in a confined space they couldn’t leave. The last time I heard about people being forced to listen to music against their will was in Guantanamo Bay.
